Bonus Guide: Alternative & Hardcore Classes + Blog Update

Still chasing that elusive cloak? No luck here yet! 😅

Before we jump into today’s guide, I want to share some important updates about the blog.

📅 New Posting Schedule

To keep the quality high (and preserve my sanity 😄), I’ll be reducing the blog’s posting frequency to two posts per week. One of them will always be focused on lore, while the second post will rotate between guides, interviews, and reflections from the community. Here’s how it’ll look:

• Week 1: Blog + Lore
• Week 2: Interview + Lore
• Week 3: Blog + Lore
• Week 4: Guide + Lore

I’ll also start a new series featuring lore based on the official game world, mixed with real in-game events. Plus a a kind of text-based podcast interviews — and yes, the form is already done Want to Be in the Blog? Apply Here!

Today’s Guide: Alternative & Hardcore Classes

This is a follow-up to our Quick Guide to Classes & Stats — Which Path to Choose?, with a focus on alternative classes and the infamous hardcore variants.

🔧 Alternative Classes

Alternative classes are perfect for leveling alts and making money efficiently! All of them provide:

• +10% Efficiency
• +10% EXP

The available options are:

• Miner
• Angler
• Chef
• Lumberjack
• Smelter

You can switch between these using an item called Metamorphite (costs 500 tokens).
Note: This doesn’t work on hardcore characters!

💡 Pro Tip:
Start with Miner, then switch to Angler or Chef once you want to farm gold — as discussed in our Practical Guide: The Best Ways to Earn Gold in IdleMMO!

Hardcore Classes

Now for the brave ones! Let’s break down the three hardcore options:

Forsaken

My personal favorite ❤️

• Takes -50% in everything (XP, efficiency, etc.)
• Full access to the market
• It’s tough, but super rewarding!

Banished

• Same as a regular class, but market-locked
• Can’t buy, sell, send items, or donate to the shrine
• A great intro to the hardcore playstyle
• There are active banished guilds ready to welcome you!

Cursed

• The combo: Forsaken + market-locked
• Full debuffs AND no market access
• The most hardcore and solo-friendly experience in the game
• Can still join banished guilds

⚠️ Tip: Don’t start with a Cursed! Learn the game first, test other playstyles, then dive into that dark path later.

Bonus Tip: More Active Characters!

You can play with up to 3 regular characters at the same time.
But banished and cursed characters don’t count toward that limit — so you can run up to 5 accounts at once! 🧠
